Kiri is desktop-only by design. Your phone is the distraction.
Every focus app lives on your phone. Kiri doesn't.
A focus timer that only runs on your laptop, where the work is. A large 2017 study found a phone on the desk cuts working memory even silenced and face down. Put it in another room. Press play.
Real session. Nothing to install. Blocks you finish here are kept if you sign up later.
No account needed. Every sound plays as a two-minute preview. Sign up for the full recordings, your streak, and 14 days of everything.

Calm focus, relaxation. Headphones required.
The timer only runs on a desktop browser.
That is the whole point. Email yourself the link above and open it on your laptop.
Desktop-only, on purpose
Ward, Duke, Gneezy & Bos (2017) tested ~800 people. A phone on the desk lowered available working memory, even silenced, even face down. Another room was best. So Kiri has no phone app. It can't follow you there.
One large study; a 2022 replication found a smaller effect and a 2023 meta-analysis of 22 studies found a small but real one. We say so in the full write-up.
Sound that covers the room
Nine long soundscapes: rain, brown noise, forest, cafe, fireplace, sea, wind, waterfall, white noise. Hours long, so you don't hear the loop. Optional binaural beats underneath if you want them.
Built for people who tab away
The countdown lives in the tab title. A chime and a desktop notification tell you when the block ends. Space starts and pauses. You never have to look at Kiri to use it.
A Kiri is 25 minutes of one thing
1
Name the task
Type what you are working on. It is saved with the session so your log reads like a diary of real work.
2
Press Space
Pick 25, 50 or 90 minutes and a sound. Space starts and pauses, Esc stops, F goes fullscreen.
3
Hear the chime
Take the break. Four Kiris in a row earn a long one. Your streak and minutes add up on the Progress page.
Free to focus. Pay once for everything.
No monthly plan, because you shouldn't rent a timer.
Because the phone is the thing you're trying to get away from. Ward et al. (2017) found that a phone within reach lowers working memory even when it's off and face down; later studies found a smaller effect, not a zero one. An app on it would undo the point. Kiri runs in your laptop browser only.
Why pay once instead of a subscription?
A timer and some sound files don't cost us money every month, so they shouldn't cost you money every month. You pay once, you own it, future features included. If the price goes up later, you've already paid.
Do I need an account?
No. The homepage runs a full session with no login. If you sign up later, the blocks you did as a guest are imported into your log, and you get 14 days of full access to try every sound.
What if I don't like it?
Email within 30 days and you get a refund. No form, no reason required.
