When two hours makes sense
Most people cannot hold full attention for two hours straight, and this timer does not pretend otherwise. It suits a different kind of work: a mock exam under real conditions, a long writing session where stopping costs more than it gives, a deadline evening, or a task you have decided to finish before you get up. The point is a fixed end, so the session does not quietly swallow the whole afternoon.
How to get through it
Expect your attention to rise and dip over two hours; that is normal. When it dips, stay with the task in a lighter way, such as re-reading the last page or tidying a paragraph, rather than opening another tab. Keep water on the desk, and choose a low, steady sound like brown noise or wind. When the chime goes, take the full twenty minutes away from the screen. If two hours is too much today, the 90-minute timer is one click away.
