Kiri is a study timer that only runs on your laptop. Twenty-five-minute blocks, a sound with no words in it, and a note of what each block was for. Press play; no account needed for the first block.
Free tier stays free. Everything else €39, once. No subscription.
No account needed. Every sound plays as a two-minute preview. Sign up for the full recordings, your streak, and 14 days of everything.
Each Kiri is a focus block followed by a break. Four in a row earns a long break.

Calm focus, relaxation. Headphones only: through speakers the two tones mix into a wobble.
Kiri runs on a desktop browser only. Email yourself the link from the bar above and open it on your laptop.
Twenty-five minutes on, five off, a chime at the end and the countdown in the tab title. The first ten minutes are the hard ones; a block with a real end makes them easier to start.
Reading and memorising use the same channel as language, so pick a sound with no words and no events: rain or brown noise. Problem sets have more room; a little more texture is fine. Studies on this are small and mixed, so try both for a week.
A large 2017 study found a phone on the desk lowers working memory even when it is off; later work found a smaller effect, not none. Kiri cannot follow you to the phone, so the phone can go to another room.
The timer, rain, brown noise and your log are free for good. Every other sound and future feature is one payment, once. No subscription on a student budget.
